Winchester Churches Nightshelter provides a vital lifeline to those experiencing homelessness in Hampshire. Founded in 1988, they remain the only Nightshelter offering direct access to emergency accommodation in the county. Wanting to be recognised as a charity at the heart of the community as well as a pioneering and modern nightshelter that is finding innovative solutions to gaps in service provision and delivery during times of sector-wide funding cuts.
In their 30th year, Winchester Churches Nightshelter approached us to modernize our look and create a stronger and more consistent brand identity, with the website being the “jewel in the crown” of their suite of communications.
We designed the website for a user-friendly and engaging user experience that accommodated for all potential users. From increasing conversion rates for visitors wishing to donate and volunteer, and for residents wishing to access information about staying with them. We developed a bespoke online system for online volunteer sign-up that could be managed in-house, but accessed via the website, thus saving time and effort for all those concerned.
The new website enables us to use multimedia stories in an effective way, allowing the client to engage their audience with the human stories behind the Nightshelter. Their previous site was not mobile optimised effectively so we made this a priority for converting visitors into supporters and donors via mobile.
