Junior Web Developer

Central Winchester, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week (Mondays & Fridays) following a successful probation period.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and WordPress—and a passion for learning and growing in a collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to work on projects, and interact with our variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain responsive websites and web applications using WordPress.
• Implement and customise WordPress themes and plugins to meet client and project requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, and other developers to ensure technical feasibility and deliver projects on time.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across various browsers, platforms, and devices.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute innovative ideas to the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of creating websites using HTML, CSS and JS
• Experience with visual page builders in WordPress e.g. Elementor
• Some understanding of PHP and how it integrates with WordPress.
• Some familiarity with WordPress development, including theme customisation and plugin usage.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and performance optimisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF, WordPress plugin)
• Basic knowledge of Tailwind CSS and creating responsive, modern, and accessible user interfaces.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. jQuery, three.js, GSAP)
• Experience using version control systems like Git
• Experience in design software such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with Laravel
• Experience with tools like Composer, npm, or build tools like Webpack/Vite

Salary and Benefits:

• £24-26k DOE
• Full time position, 37.5 hours per week
• 22 days holiday rising by 1 day per year, excluding bank holidays
• Option to work remotely up to two days per week (Mondays & Fridays) following a successful probation period.
